The Way of Alaya - an equal part collaboration between the community and Tiffany Singh, working together to create a community-based work portraying the dreams and ideas of a collective voice through making a set of ‘thought’ flags. All are invited to participate, as engagement forms this collective work of art.
The White Wall is a poetic-kinetic-sculpture improv movement troupe engaging with their immediate environment in a very unique way. Their performances are candid and responsive. The White Wall are moving in nature and reflecting that through movement and stillness.
Window Box Opera presents operatic vignettes in Iron Bank, Karangahape Rd. Framed by Iron Banks modern architecture, a selection of popular arias and ensembles will be performed with piano accompaniment. Singers will appear as the seductive songstresses, lavish lords and longing lovers who inhabit the worlds within well-known operas.
Balamohan Shingade is a vocalist in the Hindustani Classical tradition, an art form which originates from North India. A student of the illustrious Pandit Rajendra Kandalgaonkar of Kirana Gharana School, Balamohan will explore the enchanting and expressive melodies of the evening raagas as they twist and intertwine, breathing new life into this ancient art form. He will be accompanied by Basant Madhur on tabla and Roshan Raju on harmonium.
