Helen Williamson is a visual artist currently living in Auckland. Her work both has a sense of beauty and a sense of the macabre. Through her work, she is interested in exploring how we, as viewers, bend the reality we observe depending on our own perspectives, experiences and beliefs. She is largely inspired by nature and the world around her, putting a philosophical bent on the situations and scenes she comes across.
Her latest body of work features more animals, which act as voiceless sentinels that represent our relationship with the natural world. She works with acrylics, graphite and mixed media.
Apart from being a painter she's also a professional photographer, creates body art, and offer art department services for short films, theatre and events. She's also a member of the Hunter Collective.
